FRANCE TO JEFF. CO. - 1800-1820

COMING FROM FRANCE TO JEFFERSON COUNTY

In 1800-1830 when coming from Troyes France and Brest France, to LeRaysville or Long Falls would traveler be more likely to land in Boston or New York City?

Learning which port my g-g-g-grandparents (BAZILLE GUYOT and MARY FRANCE LaRUE/LeROUX) most likely entered through will allow me to research ships of that time period for more information.

Since their language would be French, could they maybe have landed in Canada and traveled to Jefferson Co. from there?

What routes from the ports to Jefferson Co. were being used in those dates, especially if they didn't emigrate with a large group?
