CARTHAGE-Robert Hoffman,77,of 600 South Washington Street,died at 6:00 A.M. Sunday in
Carthage Area Hospital where he had been a patient a week.
He had been in poor health eight years.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at McGraw Funeral Home,Rev.Stanley E. Smith,
pastor,First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and evening and Tuesday afternoon and evening
Bassett-Baxter Post 789 American Legion,will meet in a body at the funeral home Tuesday at
Surviving Mr.Hoffman are: His wife,Mrs.Nettie Sadler Hoffman,a son,Robert L. Hoffman,two daughters,
Mrs.Kenneth (Ethel) Burrell and Mrs.Meryl (Constance) Mono,both of Carthage,eight grandchildren,
a great grandchild,a brother,William Hoffman,Lowville and a sister,Mrs.Rose Look,Copenhagen.
Born at Remsen,Feb.11,1891,Mr.Hoffman was a son of J. and Dorthea Knapp Hoffman.
He attended schools in Utica and moved with his family to Denmark in early life. He was engaged
in farming and construction work most of his life. Prior to his retirement he had operated a gas station
Mr.Hoffman was a World War I veteran.
