Ref: "WAKEMAN PHILIP MATTESON" manuscript by Porter Matteson, Columbus, OH, prob. late 1940s. He didn't know Wakeman's ancestry; he said, "Wakeman & Laura met at Woodville, NY..."[Note: I found Wakeman & Laura on the 1850 census, Henderson, Jefferson co., NY].

Summary of info. from this manuscript:
WAKEMAN PHILIP MATTESON[ancestry unknown] b. 11 Oct 1823 NY d. 6 Oct 1866 Nashville, TN; m. 12 Aug 1849, Laura Jane BULLFINCH b. 14 June 1827; d. 10 Oct 1897; she m/2 J. B. HILLS and had a daug Alta HILLS who lived at Jefferson, OH.
Wakeman & Laura had children:
1. Mary Maria MATTESON b. 14 June 1850 NY; d. 5 Oct 1933; m. by 1869 Charles POST - 4 children.
2. Charles MATTESON b. 1 Feb 1853 - no more info.
3. Wallace Newton MATTESON b. 1 May 1862 Ashtabula Co., OH; m. 1 May 1886, Mayme R. FRISBIE - 2 children.
