I was just visiting Jefferson County's GenWeb page, and I noticed that there is a couple buried at Hillside Cem., which may be connected to my Ami and Ella "Wood".
This couple was Ami and Ella Witherell.
Now, census records indicate that the surname of my ancestors was "Wood". Wood was the surname of their son, Leslie Ami, and Leslie's daughter, Joy (my grandmother). Could they have begun as Witherells?
According to census records, Ami was born in May of 1866. Ami Witherell was born in 1865.
Both Amis were married to a woman named Ella. Both Ella Wood and Ella Witherell were born in 1863. Ella Wood died at some point between the 1900 and 1910 censuses. Ella Witherell died in 1910.
Could they be the same couple?
Ami Witherell was the son of Oliver and Ann Witherell.
