Looking for Joseph Wadleigh b. 3/27/1753 in New Hampshire. Around 1800 he and his family moved to Watertown, NY. His wife was Betsy Ingall(s). They had 12 children (known). Other sources tell me his wife died shortley after they relocated and he remarried and had 9 more children (unknown). Believe Joseph and wife(s) are buried in Jefferson County. One son Nathaniel was a contractor. Was a soldier in War of 1812 being captured at battle of Sackett Harbor, being held prisoner of war in Canada for 6 month. His wife's name was Ellen ??. They became early settlers of South Butler NY continuing contract work. He was employed by General Adams who had the bilding fo the Sodus Bay Canal. Have found Nathaniel and descendants in Clyde.
