BISSELL 1810 Watertown/Rodman

I am seeking info regarding a Jessie D. BISSELL who first appears in the 1810 census of Jefferson Co,NY. In 1820 , he appears in Rodman and in 1830, he appears in Watertown. Names that may or may not be associated with him.... PIERCE (in particular Jared or a Joseph maybe), DOOLITTLE(in particular Jesse Doolittle),DOTY, or COLE(Levi Cole Jr. or Sr).

Other Bissells in the area...Alanson, William,Clarissa, Louisa, Robert,Lyman (latter was son of Alanson), among other later Bissells (one being Nelson N. Bissell...we know who he was)

Alanson may have been Jesse Bissell's son.

I believe Jesse D. Bissell was in the war of 1812 with a group headed by a Tuttle, out of Jefferson Co, NY.

Can anyone give me ANY info on esp Jesse D. Bissell??? Where did he come from...where was he born...who were his parents and sibblings.????

Who did he marry?..and when? Is there a marriage index for the Watertown/Rodman area?

How far back do county records go...and how good are they?

Is there a local genealogy society that might be able to help or local researchers?

I live in the midwest(Iowa) and won't be able to make a personal visit to that area.

ANY help appreciated.

Julie BISSELL TUPKER
gg grandaughter of PIERCE B. BISSELL born about 1816, date, parents and location unknown.
