You can get death records from the town clerk of the township in which they died not only in Jefferson County but any county in NYS. A list of clerk's and addresses for each town is listed on www.usaguides.com/nys/jef.htm. If you don't know the township you can get the record from the NYS Health Dept, Vital Records Section. Their fees & downloadable forms can be found
at www.health.state.ny.us/nysdoh/consumer/vr.htm
