He was the second oldest living resident of the town of Minden and died at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 21 days. For the last eight years he divided his time between his son's farm and his daughters residence at Dolgeville. He spent this last summer on is old farm at Brookmans corners. The funeral was helf from his daughters home at 1:30 pm monday October 21. Interment in the Casler lot at Freys Bush cemetery. REv. Henry Bridge of teh ME church of Dolgeville officiated. Several neices and neighbors of JEFFERSON county attended the burial.

He was the las survivor of his fathers family of eight children. Moses, Rufus, Sanford, Harevey (Rev), Martha, Maria, and Eli. His first wife was Catherine Shaut and his second wife was Mr. Eliza Shaut Krum who did in 1922. HIs brother Nichola' first wife was Mary Roof who died at the age of ninety-six.

His business life was without a mar and his character equally unblemished. He was never sick. He fed the threshing machine on his farm at the age of 83. He and his father Nicholas I. and his grandfather Jacob spent the greater part of their lives on the old farm. His grandfather Jacob and his grandfather's brothers Adam and Nicholas settled different lots in the Geisenberg settlement as young men at the close of the American Revolution and all married girls here. His grandfather was marrid to Anna Sits, Adam was married to L. Maria Sits and Nicholas married Elisabeth Weiting, first wife and Catherine Plets second wife. Adam and NIcholas served as privates in the American Revolution as did their father Jacob. The son Jacob was only fourteen when his brothers enlisted. He is ruvived by one son, one daughter, for grandsons and several great grandchildren.
