Thanks so much for the link to the Lowville Journal! I found the articles about Robert Gibeau and he IS the son of Irene Peters and Albert Gibeau, and the grandson of my Samuel Peters. I found the family in the cemetery listings for Wilna, Jefferson Co., NY, at least some of them. I didn't know about the daughter Doris till these articles.

Irene and Albert lost a son to the war also. Young Albert.

No luck on Samuel Peters, himself, except for the reference to the grandparents in Robert's death notice. But, thank you for this, every little bit helps.
