I can't be sure that all of these census records relate to the same family as there was another Jacob and Jane Slater who lived in Ulster County, NY around the same time.

1855 census - Coxsackie, Greene County, New York
[transcribed and published by Fred Q. Bowman, lots of errors in this book, he created his own abbreviations for occupations but didn't always use them consistently]
Slater, Catharine - widow, tailoress, 51, born Greene County, NY, had resided in Coxsackie for 16 years
her children:
Reuben - printer, 17, born Schoharie County, NY, had resided in Coxsackie for 13 years
David M. - printer, 15, born Greene County, NY, had resided in Coxsackie for 13 years
Christina M. - shoe binder, 23, born Schoharie County, NY, had resided in Coxsackie for 13 years
Jacob G. - baker [or maybe a binder?], 21, born Schoharie County, NY, had resided in Coxsackie for 13 years
John P. - 19, born Schoharie County, NY, had resided in Coxsackie for 13 years

1855 census - Coxsackie, Greene County, New York
Teal, Frederick - farmer, 62, born Dutchess County, NY, had resided in Coxsackie for 4 years
wife Sarah - 57, born Greene County, NY, had resided in Coxsackie for 4 years
children, all born in Greene County, NY, all had resided in Coxsackie for 4 years:

Jacob - farmer, 21
Sarah - 17
boarder, Sarah Jane Wyborne - 14, born Greene County, NY, had resided in Coxsackie for 4 years

[Slater] Jane - wife, white, female, born Apr 1841, 59, married 44 years, mother of 8, 7 children still living, born NY, both parents born NY

NYS took a census in 1865, 1875, 1892, 1905 and several other years. If you could get your hands on the microfilm at your local LDS Family History Center, that would provide much more detailed information.

There is a Sarah Tiel buried in the Waldron Brandow Cemetery in Coxsackie. Unfortunately her gravestone was repaired, making her year of death illegible.
Sarah Tiel died 9 Oct 18-- aged 87 years. I think she was the wife of Frederick Teal/Tiel and that she probably died around 1890.
