Do you have census records for George Burt? There is a George E. Burt, age 14, in Essex, Essex Co. in 1860 with Edmund Burt, age 38. George is indexed as George C. Burt but the middle initial is an E. on the actual page. In 1850 Edmund Burt, Maria Burt & 4 yr. old George are living next door to John, 62, & Susannah, 50, Burt. Also with Edmund then is 16 year old Henry Hoskins (indexed as Harkins).
There is an old database at WorldConnect that has Edmund Sherman Burt married to Maria Cornelia Hoskins. It only gives one of their children, Ella, b. 1855. On the 1860 census Edmund & Maria have a 5 yr. old Ella with them as well as George & 2 yr. old Susan. The WC database is here: http://tinyurl.com/57dhow
