Eddie - have you looked at any census records? I pass this one on to you, even tho the age for Grace is a little off because:
A There is a sister Jenevive who appears as "Jennie" with these parents in other census recs
B These parents are in Naugatuck CT in the 1900 census, where you say John Ayers was from

If you go to findagrave.com & look at Pawling Cemetery, there are several Penneys buried there. What is intriguing is that there are some Penney/Burch connections there....maybe Malinda was a Burch ? rather than Beach ?
