Hi Pam
In the 1880 census George (57), Malissa (46)and daughter "Hetty" (9) Houghtaling lived in Walton.

"Any News from Walton?"
On Jan. 27, 1887, in Loomis, Hattie married Nelson Simmons (my gg uncle).

Then on July 7, 1894, there was a newspaper clipping stating that Hattie ran off and married Nelson's little brother Clarence. Included in the clipping Hattie's adoptive parents - Mr & Mrs George Houghtaling - lived on Delaware St in Walton. Two years prior to that they lived in Loomis.

I don't know how George and Melissa are tied to the other Houghtalings, within the same lot, in the Walton cemetery?

Cindy
