Lockwoods of 1800s Were Stone Cutters

Wilbur Lockwood (1840-1913) was the son of Abraham (or Abram) D. Lockwood (1813-1887) and Sarah Randall. He was born in Phoenica. In the 1850 Census, his occupation is a "stone cutter." He also served in the Civil War and may have owned a quarry in Hale Eddy later. Wilbur married Sarah Elizabeth Rider. Their children include:

Martha A born 1868 (she may have married Walter Van Kuren)

James W born 1869, died in 1935 (He married Eleanor Mae "Nellie" Grant)

Mary born 1878

Abraham, Wilbur and several other related Lockwoods are buried in the Hudler Cemetery, Shandaken, Ulster COunty, NY.

Descendants lived in Broome County, NY and Wayne and Susquehanna Counties, PA. Ancestors lived in Ulster and Westchester Counties, as well as Greenwich, CN.

I would love to hear from anyone familiar with these Lockwoods.
