Hi Christine, I took your query to Cortland Historical Society the other day. Unfortunately, I could not find anything on Persis or Mary Electa. You might want to check with Onondaga County since Cortland Co. was not created until 1808. Until that date it was part of Onondaga Co. Also, there are two family folders at Cortland Hist. Soc., one for Barnum and one for Chapin. The contents are of family members later than your dates. If you are looking for any later information, I can make copies for you. They charge 25 cents a copy. Let me know if I can help.
