Mary Ryan Gleason's parents were Patrick and johanna Ryan on death certificate. A michael Mcgrath several years ago said his ancestor on adjoining land maiden name Ryan and that his Ryan had sister other side of property. He thought my Mary Ryan might be another sister or a least related. Historical society of Cortland has records saying Pat and Mary(Ryan) Gleason arrived in cuyler in 1851 with Pat, Jr.(1841 Ire) Bridget(1842 IRE)and Johanna (1847 IRE) their living children. I believe Gleason's were from Tipperary, and that they were related to Gleasons living in Syracuse next door to my Salmon ancestors which is how GGP's johanna Gleason and Martin Salmon met. Have not found passenger records or early church records. Buried at ST. Mary's in Cortland. Have old family photo album from 1880's including a couple earlier ones. One is tintype I think is the 5 listed above. The album belonged to youngest Mary, born 1860 in Cuyler. Do you have any photos that old to compare? Have no idea if any of them Ryans, but could be if they lived closeby? I assume mosty are Gleasons. I have copies and will gladly mail them. Too many for me to e-mail as I'm on a slow connection.Do you live in New York State? Thanks for reply. Mary Salmon
