BLOOMER, Amelia JENKS -- -- undergarments
Posted by: Marlyn Howard Wilt (ID *****5435) Date: May 27, 2002 at 14:58:06

Today May 27, 2002 the "Dayton (OH) Daily News" under the heading "TODAY'S History" had this entry:
"On this date (27 May) in 1818, American reformer Amelia JENKS BLOOMER, who popularized the garment that bears her name, bloomers, was born in Homer (Cortland Co) N.Y."

What was her full maiden name?

Who were her and her husband's parents full names?

Her husband was Dexter Chamberlain BLOOMER. I'd like full dates of birth, marriage and death of each.

Who were Dexter's siblings, their applicable dates/locations?

Where are they buried?

Fact or fiction that Amelia and Dexter bore no children?

I am related to the BLOOMER'S through both my wife, Marjorie Jane (Moore)(deceased, and myself,
Marlyn Howard Wilt.

Any fragments of information will be appreciated.
