Roswell Charles BELL

Searching for any little bit of information on my ggg-grandfather, Roswell Charles BELL. Roswell was b. in CT on Jul-02-1786 although I don't know the town or city of birth. Roswell first turned up as head of his own household on the 1810 Newport, Herkimer Co., NY census, but moved his family to Virgil, Cortland Co., NY by the time the 1825 census was taken. I don't know the name of Roswell's first wife although I do know she was born in RI. She died or divorced(?) before the names of women were listed on the censuses. Roswell married for the second time abt. 1849 to an Anna (last name unknown). Roswell lived in the Virgil/Cortlandville, Cortland Co., NY area until he died there in 1871. I am aware of two children by Roswell and his first wife:
1. Aaron Harvey BELL, b. abt. 1813 in Herkimer Co., NY. Married Elizabeth AYERS in Cortland Co., NY and moved to MI before 1850.
2. Lucy Ann BELL, b. abt. 1816 in (prob.) Herkimer Co., NY. Married Lewis GRIDLEY and remained in Virgil, Cortland Co., NY until they both died there in the late 1800's.
If anyone can help me find out where Roswell came from in CT, or any BELL family connections, I would like to hear from them. Additionally, if anyone has information regarding the BELL marriages with the AYERS or GRIDLEY families, please contact me too. I have a little information regarding these two families and would like to share/compare notes.
