Jedediah Lake and his wife, Patience Church lived in Virgil/Lapeer, Cortland Co., NY. From my notes on them:
JEDEDIAH LAKE
BIRTH: son of Henry Lake and Jemima Waldo. Lineage found in "Genealogy of the Waldo Family", Waldo Lincoln. Descendants of Cornelius Waldo of Ipswich, MA from 1647-1900, LDS film 1697272, item 1-2. Bible and family records cited in "Gen of Waldo Fam". Per "Gen of the Waldo Fam", Jedediah was a farmer and lived at Virgil, NY. Also, see DAR Lineage, vol.34, p.180. Lived in Plainfield with parents but was probably born in Hoosick, Rensselaer Co., NY.
MARR: Bible and family records cited in "Gen of Waldo Fam". "Married at Marathon, NY., Patience, daug of Malachi and Lucy Blakeslee Church of Marathon. NOTE: After death of Jedediah, Patience married 19 Jun 1839 to Zenas Thompson. They had one daughter, Augusta who married Lee Johnson.
CHILDREN: Henry Malachi, b. 25 Feb 1827; Sarah b. 15 Jun 1828; Jedediah C., b. 18 Nov 1830; Lucretia Patience, b. 4 Jul 1833.
DEATH: died intestate. Zenas Thompson administrator, 9 Jun 1840, Cortland Co., Letters Testamentary Administration, Book A "Tree Talks" v.30#2, Jun 1990. Cortland Co. Letters of Guardianship A, 1832-1848, "Tree Talks" v36#1, Mar 1996, petition of Patience Thompson of Virgil, mother of Henry M., Sara, Jedediah C., and Patience Lake, chidren of Jedediah Lake, deceased. William Church appointed. 29 Jun 1840.
From the above info, it would seem likely that your Jedediah Lake Johnson could possibly be related to the family of Lee Johnson, husband of Augusta Thompson. The Johnson and Lake families were probably neighbors or friends in Cortland Co. and Jedediah Lake Johnson was named after Jedediah Lake. I don't know of any other Johnson/Lake relationships.
