Laurie, Thank you so much. You could be right. The only information I had was a family tree prepared in the 1940's which, I think was based on word of mouth stories passed down through at least 2 or 3 generations with no corroborating evidence. The only thing I no for sure that there was a Frank Goyette born in New York born around 1843 who married Phebe Swenor. They had 12 children the youngest of which was Paul, my husband's father. There is no one left from that generation and, as I said, no evidence to support the story. I will certainly have to get documented proof and rewrite the tree. Again, thank you for your efforts.
