Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Hi Clarence,

I would suggest to go right to the source ....

NEHGS - New England Historic and Genealogical Society
http://www.newenglandancestors.org/

State Archives of Maine:
http://maine.gov/portal/facts_history/genealogy.html

Commonwealth of Massachusetts - Archives:
http://www.sec.state.ma.us/arc/

Also, you'd be surprised at the number of genealogical books re. the Northeast that are available at the major central library in Atlanta - both inside the Perimeter and outside the Perimeter.

Good luck!

Kathleen
