Joseph Rose 1760 - 1840

Joseph Rose born MA enlisted on his 16th birthday in Montague MA to serve in Rev War. He and brothers Benjamin, Nathaniel & father Benjamin lived in 1790/1791 in Winhall VT. Joseph probably married there and began his family in VT, then he moved before 1810 to Sherburne area of Chenango County NY. Joseph and his brother Nathanial in 1810 census along with Eatons and Whitneys who came from Winhall VT. Nathaniel & Anna Whitney Rose along with her brothers moved down into PA. In Joseph's pension record he states he has lived in Chenango all the time since coming from VT. There is no mention of spouse or children in those papers. I believe he had at least 4 sons & 2 daughters. I have no names. Any suggestions as to material to look at in 1810-1840 in Shelburne area. Thank you. Miriam Rose Hughes
