I believe (Pierre) Joseph's 2nd wife's name might have
been Betsy Steele or McDowell. There is record of a Betsy
who married Joseph Tillou/Tilyou. She was of Scots heritage and was born at sea on the way to America. I
received this information from another Tilyou descendent.

It is my belief (although I haven't been able to document it) that my great-great-great grandfather Peter Tilyou
[b. 1 August 1771-in possibly Dutchess Co. NY and d. 5 Nov. 1851 in Jackson, MI] was the son of (Pierre) Joseph and his first wife Mary Carlisle. Carlisle is a very popular name in my Tilyou line. I would really appreciate any information you might have on the Tilyous! Thank you so
much for sharing with me. If it would be easier, you can
reply to my e-mail:

Also, can you tell me your great-grandmother Flora's middle name?
Thanks! Juli
