Hi. I'm looking to connect my ggg-grandfather, Franklin Hammond, to one of the Hammond families in upstate NY.
Franklin Hammond was born in 1804 in Pompey, NY (Onondaga County). He died in 1852, amd was married to Elizabeth Phippeny (or Phippenny or Pipheny). They had at least 7 children. Some books have mistakenly listed Franklin's birth as 1829, which is actually the year of his marriage. He lived in upstate New York his entire life mostly around the towns of Perrysburg, Baldwin and Gowanda. (Not to be confused with the Long Island town of Baldwin.)
Any clues would be appreciated.
