Kathy; We have our line at the New Chronicles, but later research shows that lineage to be incorrect. We have our gggg grandparents Aaron & Margaret (Meynert) Swarthout who were at New Rhinebeck, NY 1805. They were at Carlisle, Schoharie CO, NY in the 1820 Federal census and the 1825 Schoharie CO, NY Canvass. They had children Margaet Ann Swarthout who married Jacobus M. Taylor, SR in 1825 at Carlisle, Schoharie CO, NY and her brother James D. Swarthout who married Maria Salisbury at Schoharie CO, NY. He later moved to Argusville, NY and he and his wife died there and were buried at the Lutheran Church Cemetery at Argusville. Margaet Ann Swarthout who married Jacobus M. Taylor, SR(my ggg grandparents) moved around NY and then settled Lapeer CO, MI about 1837-1840. Older research hd thought that Aaron Swarthout was son of Aaron Swartwout, the Fifer in the Orange County NY Militia. But later research on age of our Aaron shows that Aaron the Fifer would have been too young to have been the father. Last year a post noted that Aaron the Fifers older brother, Moses Swartwout, also in the Orange County NY Militia, would fit as the father of our Aaron. Since our Aaron died prior to the 1830 Census, it makes it more difficult to figure his lineage. We have been working the lead to Moses as possible father and have done a lot of research, with much help from other family researchers and it looks promising. We have to find the Revolutionary War pension record or court depositions for his pension record for Moses to see if mention of his children. So far think we only know about children Sally and possibly Oakley. Gene Notify Administrator about this message?
