Zamoytuk or Bryan PLS HELP
Posted by: Casandra Bryan (ID *****1992) Date: November 04, 2010 at 03:17:02

Okay, I've posted before but I didn't realize how far people would go to help me, so I didn't give much information. Thanks so so much for all of the responses and I'll try and narrow it down so that any other good people that try to help me aren't grasping at straws. I was born in 1981 to James Walter Bryan and Juliette Cox. James Bryan was born in Baltimore, MD in 1955. His parents were Helen Alice Zamoytuk b. 1916 in Broome County, New York supposedly and James W. (William OR Walter) Bryan b. abt 1920 New York state. Helen Alice Zamoytuk later married a man from Greenville, TX named Buster ACR Brown b. 1917 in Mesquite, TX. When Helen died she was still legally married to Buster Brown but she lived in Baltimore and he lived in Greenville, TX. On my father James Walter Bryan's birth certificate it gives an address of what is now the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter in Baltimore, MD on North Calvert Street. The story is that my father's father ran out on her, her daughter and my infant father. I'm assuming Helen and James Sr met in New York, but do not know for sure. Helen's parents were John and Ksenia Zamoytuk of Binghamton, Broome County, NY. John died in Binghamton in 1933 at the age of 44 and Ksenia moved to Baltimore after about 1957. Helen also had a sister, Genevieve who married Chester Surowka and Genevieve died in 1956 or so in a car accident. I'll give a run down of dates and parents, etc.. below but what I need is info on Helen Brown/Bryan/ or Zamoytuk or Ksenia Butynec Zamoytuk in Baltimore mainly. I have census records from 1910 20 and 30 and John's obit. Also have followed the Surowka family to some degree. I'm trying to piece together my family history but I don't know any exact dates for Ksenia, Helen or Genevieve's deaths or births, so I can't find anything concrete. Also, they are Polish and Russian, so their last names do not transfer over to exact english and there are many different spellings. Some others are Zamotuk, Zemaituk, Zamaytuk, Zamayduk, Zamoytok, Zamajtuk, and on and on. Also, I really would like to find my father James Walter Bryan if he is still living. He was born 09 Jan 1955 in Baltimore, MD and also lived in Greenville, San Antonio, Denton and Bastrop, TX to name a few. He had long hair in the 70's and early 80's, but I don't know now and I don't have any other info on him other than he has an older sister who won the Maryland Lotto in about '78 or so. I sincerely appreciate all of the help and thanks to everyone for reading this.

What I want more than anything is to get back in contact with any living family I may have, but at this time only know how to contact the Surowka side. Thanks again for any help.
