I am confused ... I know Aurelius is a township, also a town (village?). Likewise, Fleming is both a township and town or village. I descend from David Irish and Peres Miner, both gggg grandfathers, both appearing in 1810 census, living near each other in Aurelius. I have a 1902 map showing both township and towns for each named place. However, I keep finding "Aurelius, now Fleming", in print references. I'd like to visit this area where their children, Joseph Eastman Irish and Abigail Miner were born @1802 and married, but don't know whether to go to location of Aurelius, or Fleming as shown on the 1902 map. That map shows the town of Aurelius located where W. Gennesee St. (Rt. 326 ) and Half Acre Rd. intersect, west of Auburn. Fleming is shown as on current maps, south of Auburn and west of Owasco Lake.
Also, Scipioville appears on both 1902 and current maps, but Scipio of 1902, now seems to be Scipio Center. Am I correct?
