I am looking for details for the referenced person who was born abt 1830 in York, York County, Maine. He was a U.S. Civil War veteran who apparantly landed in Humphrey (Center), Cattaraugus County.
I do not know when he first settled in Humphrey but I do have his pension record showing paperwork dated April 1896. He was not able to receive a pension since the War Dept had him listed as a "deserter at large"

I suspect that there is a story that needs to be told so I am searching for more detils of his life after he entered service and especially after he left the service. Can anyone assist with any kind of details regarding this person?

I have attempted to contact the Humphrey Town Historian but have been unsuccessful.

Regards
Alex
