John Augustus Darbee is buried in Cottage Cemetery, Town of Dayton, Cattaraugus County, New York. He was in the Civil War in Co. A, 64th NY Volunteer Infantry. Shown on the rolls as Darby. Enlisted at Elmira as a private, promoted to sergeant, wounded at Gettysburg, July 2, 1863. Discharged for wounds October 31, 1864 at York, PA. Born September 13, 1827, died January 15, 1901.
