Need help! James W. Bryan b. 1955, son of Zamoytuk, Brown, RT Surowka/Butnik
Posted by: Casandra Wade (ID *****1992) Date: August 20, 2011 at 00:11:48

Hi, I'm trying desperately to find my father and my Polish

ancestors but I'm lost. I did not even know of my Polish/Russian?

roots until just recently and I'm stuck in every sense of the word

as far as tracing my family back, so let me just tell you what I

have on my family.

My father is James Walter Bryan b. 01/09/1955 in Baltimore,

Maryland to

Helen Alice Zamoytuk, b. April 21, 1916 supposedly in Binghamton,

New York. Lived in Baltimore, MD from 1943- abt 1987, then was

moved to a nursing home in Perry County, Arkansas when she died in

1996. She supposedly was not married to my father's dad but married

Buster Brown of Point, TX in Baltimore, MD on 11 Nov 1957 according

to Buster's obit. Helen had a daughter on 01 Apr 1957 to an unknown

father and Buster Brown supposedly signed as her father, although

he had not yet married Helen. The daughter's name was Betty

Elizabeth Brown (m. Bronson and Lynch) and she died in Perry

County, Arkansas in 1995 to suicide. And that is all I know of my

close relatives on that side, other than knowing Betty's daughters

and son, who unfortunately do not have any more info than I.

Helen's parents and sister are:

Mother- Ksenia Butynec- b. abt 1885 in Galicja, possibly Lubella?
I have also seen on immigration papers her name listed as
Salvera. I find marriage records for her, possibly, to an

Ivan
Kostenyk and Porfeji Budnik as well, so kinda lost there.
Believed to have died in Baltimore, Maryland on 19 Jan

1963.

Father- Jan or John Zamoytuk (Zemaytuk, Zemaituk, Zamotuk, Zamajduk
are a few of the other spellings I've seen. b. 07 May 1889

in
Grodno?, Russia. He lived in Binghamton, New York and

worked
as a shoemaker for the Endicot-Johnson Company. Died 01 Oct
1933. John's sisters were listed in his obit as Rose

Gostowt,
Salmonea Bartosiewicz, and MaryAnne Linowski.

Sis- Helen's sister is Genevieve Zamoytuk Surowka, b. abt 1923

and died in
car accident in Deposit, New York in 1956. Married to

Chester
Surowka and still has many living children and

grandchildren I
am in touch with.

ANY info you might have would be wonderful, I'm at a dead end in my

search and desperately need help. And if possible, please respond

directly to my email addresses below, I can't ever find the sites

or links to get back on the genealogy sites to check for updates.

Thanks.
