There is a death notice for a Thomas O`Connor, age 72, in the March 25, 1969 issue of the Binghamton Press. One of his survivors is Mrs. Ambrose Nealon of Binghamton. A 1920 census record for Scrantron, Lackawanna Co., PA shows the family of Thomas & Ella O`Connor b. born PA. They have among other children a Helen, age 17 & a Thomas, 22. Also in the home is Thomas` mother Julia, age 65, b. PA. Ambrose Nealon`s wife was probably this Helen O`Connor. You can find this notice at http://www.fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html by searching for "Ambrose Nealon" There are other mentions of the name in the Binghamton papers.
1900 & 1910 census records in Scranton show a Katie/Catherine Larkin as head of household with her daughter Margaret Nealon, b. 1875. In 1900 Margaret has a son John, 11 months; in 1910 she has children John, 12, Evertte, 10 & Ambrose, 8. She is listed as married but her husband is not in the home. In 1880 there is a Larkin family that fits, though Margaret`s age is a bit off. I`ll paste that below.
