Keach (Keech) & Norton families - Conklin 1850

Daniel Keach, age 27, with his family (wife Clarissa & three daughters under the age of 5, Catharine, Betsey, & Mary) appears in the 1850 census in Conklin. His occupation is shown as "boatman." I can find only one other person with the occupation "boatman" in Conklin that year. That person is Frederic Norton, age 22,b NYm who appears in a household headed by a Chester Norton, age 49, b CT; in the Norton household there are also individuals named Wood (probably a daughter's family) & a Lydia Thursten, who may be Chester Norton's mother-in-law.

Has anyone heard of any of these families? Is there any connection between the Keach & Norton families?
