I was able to go to the Family History & Genealogy Center here in Binghamton and found that the school for mentally retarded was orginally called the "Binghamton Training School". It had the school and also housed students and infants. It later was known as the Fairview school. The orginal "Fairview School" was school #12 built in 1893 was called "Fairview Grammar School" in 1911 and name was changed to Calvin Coolidge school at least by 1922 when there is a picture of a graduating class. That was where I went in 1939.In my years there there was no Miss/Mrs. Johnson. I also checked obits and surname files and found no Amanda Johnson. Do you know what years I should be searching?
