I am looking for someone who can check the Binghamton newspapers for information regarding a robbery that took place in 1916. I found the following in a Syracuse news paper. I believe Kenneth C. Rickerson was my mother's half brother. This came as a complete shock, as nobody in my family has ever mentioned it. any help would be greatly appreciated!

MEN ADMIT ROBBERY OF BINGHAMTON SAFE
Empolyes [sic] of Railroad Company Confess Taking $3,000 and Burying It on Farm.
Binghamton, Dec. 7—The sensational robbery of the Binghamton Railway offices of $3,000 last Sunday night culminated early this morning when in a lonely farm yard on the Windsor road in the light of a glimmering lantern three detectives dug the stolen money from the ground where it had been buried after Kenneth C. Rickerson, 19 years old, and R. F. Obrien, 20 years old had confessed.
As the result of grilling the men who were employed by the railway company in the barns told how they had obtained the safe combination, one unlocking the safe and lowering the money bags by a rope from a window to his confederates in a wagon, then driving to the farm of a relative and burying it. All the money taken was regained by the police.
