The Tompkins family is one of my brick walls and I happened to run across the same information regarding Meda. I was back at the Binghamton Public Library today and in their vertical files found that Levi Tompkins married Phebe Grumson of Lisle on 3/3/1861. Their marriage was witnessed by Jacob Spicer and wife. Levi Tompkins died during the Civil War on 3/1/1865 in Memphis, Tn, and left behind a wife and 1 child. I'm guessing that one child was Meda, although the dates don't quite connect. In the records of the Methodist Church in Lisle I came across a Media Tompkins, baptized 5/30/1880 with a notation that she had been married first to a Swift and then to an Elijah Spencer. I hope this helps you.
