LaShier, Lashier

Am seeking information on the origins of the Lashier/LaShier family in Broome County. Aaron LaShier arrived in 1795 from Dutchess County, was married to Susanna Roe and died in Union in 1857. John LaShier was in the Town of Maine in 1820, possibly earlier. He was married to Rosannah and died in Maine in 1854. Rosannah may have been a second marriage for John. Aaron and John were also recorded as Lashure, Lazier, and Lesher in Broome County censuses. The name LaShier was also recorded at various times and places as Lasher, Legere, Lejere, Lozier, Leasure, Leisure, and otherwise. The Lashiers are believed to be descended of Francois LeSueur of 1600's New Amsterdam through his son Jan.

There was also a Frederick Lazier recorded in Union in the 1800 census who I believe may have been a member of this family. The name Frederick was used a number of times in the early generations of the LaShiers.
