Bronx orphanages around 1916

Am looking for information on Bronx orphanages around 1916. My grandfather and his brothers were from Mott Haven and were put in an orphanage after their mother died. They went back to live with their father when he remarried, but I have no idea what orphanage they lived in. Any help on names of orphanages much appreciated.

Oh, one other thing--I've heard that children at this time were automatically put in orphanages if their mother died, even if their father was alive. Apparently the law didn't allow a single father to care for his children unless he remarried or had, say, a sister move in and watch them. Has anyone else heard this?
