I had a similar thing happen when I requested internment records from Calvary Cemetery. For a moment I was taken aback, but then it was more laughable that they tried to get money from me for a grave bought in the 1800s. What I dispute, though, is the money they charge for internment records--for one plot it's something like $50 for the first record and $5 for each additional one. So if you have a number of family members buried in one plot, it can run you a pretty penny.
