Sorry I couldnt have been more help. When your mother was adopted , what was her adopted last name? Maybe I could find her with her adopted last name in 1930.
I have to tell you that I just did a research for one of my friends who was adopted when she was 8 months old in 1948. When I began her research, I didnt think I had a chance in hell to find anything about her mother. Well I did and just 2 days ago we found out that her mother passed away one year ago. It was sad to learn this but we also found out she had half brothers and sisters so some good came out of it.
Dont give up hope at all Rodney and if you need me to help you again I will.---Also remember that in 1925 the state of New york held their own census. Only Federal census was done every 10 years but the State had theirs every year . So you might want to see if the New York Archives or Historical Societies hold the State census for 1925.
