Wright/Kelley Throgs Neck Marriage `1865

I am seeking information about my great grandparents, Francis Cheesman Wright and Katherine Kelley, reportedly from/married in Throgs Neck, Bronx County, around 1865-70, before moving to California. NY State Dept of Health has no marriage records before 1881. Where are they? Most grateful for any leads. I'm in North Carolina. (Visit to Bronx County offices last spring yielded no clue.)
