Hi:
Margaret Cooper was married to Elisha Cooper. I know of four children, but I think there were more.
The first one I know about is Hudson Cooper, born in 1832. The second is Milo Cooper, my great-grandfather, born in 1836. She also had a son named Martin in 1838 and a daughter named Eleanora in 1842.
Margaret was about 32 years old when Hudson was born, so I think she likely had other children before him.
In the 1840 census, there is a Margaret Cooper as a head of household living in Burns, NY with 7 children. In the 1850 census, she is already married to Mr. Winchell and gives her age as 50. There are both Cooper children and Winchell children included in the enumeration.
I've contacted the historian in Burns, NY to see if she can find any clues for me in the old records.
Considering Margaret being born about 1801 or so, she and Elisha would be the right age to fit into the family constellation of the children of Walter Cooper.
Interestingly, Milo named one of his sons Walter.
