Orphan Train Children in Hume
Posted by: Mary Toews (ID *****9057) Date: December 09, 2008 at 17:48:50

I am looking for a listing of citizens who took in children from the Orphan Trains during the years from 1870 to 1910. Where can I find information on the children who rode these trains? I have a Charles Redanz (Redansky) who was raised by Andrew Caldwell sometime between 1880 and 1900. I wondered how Andrew and his wife (they had lost two children) came to know about Charles---could he have come on this "Orphan Train?" Would there be any articles in the old newspapers about these travelers and their "adopted" families?
Mary
