I am sure this is the family of my great great grandmother, Edna Amelia Clark. She married Thomas Stanton Gardner who had since divorced his first wife, Lavinia Wellman. The two headed west with first child Mary Marie being born somewhere in Wisconsin. My great grandmother, their second daughter, was born in Illinois before they moved to Forest City IA and subsequently to Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo County, IA. Edna's death record says that she was born in NY and her father (listed as Handy Clark)was born in PA. I think that this information is wrong as I have been researching this for upwards of 35 years with no results except that Edna had a brother Handy who was also living in IA. Her mother was listed as ----Shepherd. I wonder if that should have been "Feathers" or if Chauncy married a second time etc. Edna married to Thomas Stanton Gardner on Dec 24 1853 in Alleganey Co NY in Belfast. That information was found on Thomas Gardner's Civil War papers and dates could have been wrong. Hope I can hear from you, I just now found your post and think we are connected.
