I am interested in information on Lucian B. Lathrop who moved to the Town of Pike, Allegany County, N.Y. in 1822 with his wife Pamelia.
He served as deputy sheriff of Allegany County for 12 years and in 1824 was raised to the sublime degree of Master Masons in the Rising Sun Lodge in the town of Pike, Allegany County, N.Y. (I understand that this area is now part of Wyoming County).
Children: George, Lorenzo, Luther Lathrop were born here.
Any information on this family would be helpful.
I am also interested in any Underground Railroad activities in Allegany County, N.Y. Residents involved in helping fugitive slaves escaping to Canada (Other than Calvin Fairbank who I have already read about).
Were there any anti-slavery committees formed in this county in the 1820's or 1830's. Any stories about residents involved in UGRR?
