Patti,
Unfortunately I can't confirm his link to your ancestor. The following is taken from my David D. How's confession:
"I was born at Tyringham, Massachussetts, January 5, 1776, of religious parents." It goes on to say that Mr. How moved to Salisbury, NY with his wife, Olive Brunson in sometime early in the 1800's. They lived in Salisbury for four years, and then moved to Marcellus, Onondaga County. In 1812, the How family moved to Angelica, NY, and in 1816, Mrs. How died after a long illness. They had five small children, but the children's names are not listed. He then states, "In the same season after the death of my wife, I deliberated upon my situation, and after consulting some of my friends, I married the widow Zilphia Redfield, who has borne me two pleasant children, from whom my sins, my dreadful sins, have ever separated me." Mr. How's confession is extremely long and detailed, but gives no mention to the names of his parents, siblings (if any) or children. Mr. How was hanged in the park circle at Angelica, NY on Friday, March 19,1824. I hope this clears it up for you, and I wish you luck in your search!
Aimee
