I'm fairly certain I have found William R. Bell's parents. Father: Erwin Bell b. about 1832 in Berne, Albany Co. NY. Mother: Mary unknown b. about 1833, died before 23 JAN 1892. Erwin's mother was born in Berne as well, according to an 1892 Cortland County Poorhouse admittance record for Erwin. William had a brother, James Grover Bell (listed as Grover as well as James G on censuses), b. about 1861.
