Mary,
I looked at the census image for the Peacock boys & it`s exactly as you described. Why the young boys were listed first is a mystery. Maybe you already have this but Ambrose Peacock is listed in the NYC Death Index at the Italian Genealogical Group`s web site. He died in Kings co. on June 28, 1893 at age 53. The certificate # is 11039. The death record may give his parent`s names.
