Did you ever find out more information on Henry Harrison Scott? He lived in San Francisco from about 1874 until his death in April, 1895. There is quite a story about his oldest daughter, Mary Scott Castle. She married a local lawyer (Neville Castle) in 1897 and in 1900 went on the stage as Mary Scott. She had an affair with D.W. Griffith (at that time going under the name of Lawrence Griffith) and was tragically murdered by her second husband in Italy in a well-documented case in 1910.

Henry's father, John B., came to California in 1849 and settled in Napa. His wife and children were still in Virginia in 1850 but had joined him by 1860. If you want additional information, please email me at
