There is no Wasyl Ferby registered in the United States because he emigrated to Edmonton, Canada after marrying Mary Hayduk in Lviv, Ukraine. I'm not sure what year they arrived but it would have been the late 19th or early 20th century. Their eldest daughter Rosalie passed away just 3 years ago at age 102. They had 3 sons that I know of, and 2 of them moved to the United States probably in the 1930s. Mike did not have children, but there was a brother named Robert who I think did have kids in the United States. Wasyl was a Cossack officer before he came to Canada, but he killed a man in a duel and was wanted for murder. He was defending Mary's honour - or so the story goes. The name Ferby, by the way, is Turkish, not Ukrainian, as Wasyl's father was Turkish.
