Thank you for responding. Long story short, my husband has been searching for his bio father's side of the family. Through DNA testing we were able to find out his last name of Dunbar. We were given some copies of old photos of his paternal grandfather and his paternal great grandmother. We are trying to determine a location/region of where they might have been taken. The photographers mark looks like Dowe. It is printed in the center of a painter pallette on the lower left hand side of the photo. There are 4 brushes running through the pallette and it has leaves around it. To the right it says Artisitc Photographer.
His grandfather Edwin "Del" Dunbar was born in 1888 in Texas and looks to be about 14-18 years of age.
His G-grandmother, we think her name was Gwen (Morris/Morse) Dunbar. She looks to be about 30 to 40 ish.
The only thing that we know about G-Grandfather is his name was Frank. There are conflicts with the few census records that we have been able to find for Del and his death certificate on the places that his parents were from.
We have run into dead ends on trying to locate information on Gwen or Frank. We know that Del was working in Burns Oregon in 1915 and have been able to trace him.
Our goal is to locate a region where the photo might have been taken and start searching cemetaries and local records. Any suggestions that you may have will be appreciated!
